Post procedure advice

After ear wax removal has been carried out it is important that you read the following information in case you experience any symptoms that arise from the procedure.

Ear wax removal using microsuction including warm water irrigation is considered safer than other more traditional methods in use. Complications of modern ear wax removal are uncommon; however, we advise that possible side-effects and personal risks can be inherent in the procedure.

After the procedure it is important to allow the ears to heal. Preventing problems of infection and avoiding complications. Commonly your ears should recover quickly as any swelling dissipates and irritation is naturally resolved. Your hearing should be back to the new normal quickly. If you have any issues that you think are unusual to the common recovery expected please do not hesitate to get in touch with Telford Ear Wax Removal Ltd for advice. (See contact information below). Should you experience further worsening symptoms please seek medical attention forthwith.

Post Procedure. What to expect

It is normal to experience some temporary blocked or muffled hearing immediately afterwards as the ear canal swells slightly from the irritation caused by the procedure. The swelling will subside within 24-48 hours as the ear heals and hearing gradually returns to the new normal.

You may experience some light headedness, vertigo or sensations of imbalance after microsuction and irrigation. This is common and should resolve within 24-48 hours.

Ears can remain sensitive, irritated or itchy for several days following the procedure. Some residual redness or mild discomfort is normal, you may also notice some cracking or popping which can be the ear canal recovering.
